Caleb's baseball team won the championship this year! They are a good group of boys. It was exciting to watch them play!
Anyone who knows me well, knows why our blog is not up to date ~ we are extremely busy. I thought I'd make time today to update on how our summer went. All three boys played baseball. There ~ enough said. But wait ........ there was more.
The end of June, Sarah and I flew to Nebraska to help my uncle celebrate his 80th birthday, which is this fall. It was nice to see my parents, both sisters, nieces & nephews, aunts & uncles and cousins. We also got to see one of my best friends, Lynne & her family, who met us in Omaha for an afternoon.
The next weekend we made a trip to St. Louis to go to the zoo and a Cardinals game. We have some friends stationed there that we knew from Germany. It was nice to see the Harris family and hang out for the weekend.
The next weekend (are you tired yet from all our travels?) my best friend, Jules, flew me out to Phoenix for the weekend for my 40th birthday. I hadn't seen her since 2003 and this was only the 3rd time since we left England in 1997 that we've had a chance to get together. It was a fabulous weekend. Lots of girl time and catching up.
We also were blessed with some company this summer. Caleb's best friend Alec, who moved from Germany the week before we did to Virginia, and his mom (my friend) & sister stopped by on their way home after visiting family in Iowa. It was so nice to have them here. The boys just picked up where they left off. That's the sign of a true friend! We even talked them into staying an extra day!
Our final trip of the summer came the weekend before school started. We drove out to Kansas City, picking up a friend of Caleb's (Tanner) along the way, to watch the Yankees play the Royals. My parents came up to join us. Although the Yankees didn't win the game, Caleb did catch a homerun ball hit during warm ups by none other than Derek Jeter, Caleb's favorite player. So it was all worth it in the end.
Since school started and I went back to work full-time, the busyness hasn't slowed down any. Caleb is now a sophmore, Joshua is in 7th grade, Daniel is in 4th grade and Sarah started her first year of preschool 2 days a week. What started out as Daniel playing youth football and Caleb playing soccer for the soccer club at school has turned into ALL 3 BOYS playing football, plus Caleb still playing soccer for the soccer club at school.
And now you know why the blog doesn't get updated very often. I will, once again, do my best to update it more often though. Take care, everyone. And keep in touch! We'd love to hear from you!
