You know it's broken when.....

You know your toe is broken when it's at a 45 degree angle from where it started and it doesn't move back on it's own. Yes, I'm talking about me. I was going downstairs to put on my shoes this morning and kicked the suitcase in the hall. I immediately knew it was broken. They couldn't get me in at the base until 2:30 this afternoon, so my friend went with me to the krankenhaus in Bitburg. The doctor confirmed that it is most definitly broken. It needs to be taped for 3-4 weeks and they gave me crutches. Oh, by they way, they told me I could keep them for next time. Ha! Ha!

Oh and something I just realized today: in the next presidental election our oldest son will be old enough to vote!

Pictures

I had a few minutes, so I thought I'd post some pictures from my sister's visit.
Hope you like them!

For my brother!

The Protestant Women of the Chapel did a 5k walk/run today for breast cancer awareness. But it was also for all cancers really. A good friend of mine (and her husband) walked with me in memory of her mom. She recently lost her mom to endometrial cancer. I walked in honor of my brother, who is a cancer survivor. I love you, Brad!

An awesome game!

Caleb's soccer team played their first game of the tournament tonight. They won 3-2. It was such an awesome game! Caleb got a goal off a corner kick by heading it into the goal. It was so amazing. Now our next game is Wednesday! Wish us luck and say a prayer!

Yes, she's actually here!

My sister and I!

Sarah had enough of the chocolate factory that it put her to sleep!

After a long day of walking and walking, these three are tired out!

Sorry I haven't posted sooner, we've just been so busy that there hasn't been time. Their plane was two hours late on Friday, but that wasn't a problem. We got back here and haven't stopped going. Allen took Greg and the kids out for pizza. I took Marcia to play bunco with PWOC. Saturday we went to Koln to see the cathedral and chocolate factory. Then we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe and came home. Yesterday was a down day for us. We had our visit from the social worker for the 6 month post placement report that is due on the 5th of November. (Can you believe it's been almost 6 months already? Time has gone by so fast already.) Then we went and got some groceries and went to church. Oh and I've already introduced my sister to Polish Pottery. Well, we're out the door to go see a castle. You can't come all this way and not see at least one castle and cathedral. I'll try to add some more pictures tonight!

5 months already!

Can you believe it's been 5 months already? Time has just gone by so fast. She changes every day. Yesterday we found 2 new molars and one more that will be in soon. Today her newest thing is that she said Joshua and Caleb. I'm sure my sister will have her saying Marcia or Auntie by the time she leaves.

Caleb had a soccer game last night and today. Last night they tied 2-2. It was cold and rainy. I ended up taking Sarah and Daniel to the van partway through the second half. Today they played a tough game against their rival Spangdahlem. They won 4-0. So far they are 3-1-2.

A perfect rainbow!

Today after I dropped the boys off at school, I saw the perfect rainbow. It was complete from side to side and the colors were so crystal clear. I could clearly see red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple in that order. It was so close it was almost as if I could reach out and touch it. I was going to take a picture, but right as I got home, the clouds rolled in and covered it up. It did make me remember God's promises though. Promises that His ways are not ours, nor is His timing or His will. But He is still the Almighty who knows us and loves us and will never let go of us.

Fall is my favorite time of year in Germany. Not because of the great weather, but because of the magnificant color that surrounds us. This picture is my favorite tree in the fall, but a picture doesn't even come close the wonderful colors that it has. It is even more beautiful now than when I took this picture. I will try to get another one and post it. I just love seeing God's beauty at this time of year. I'm so excited that my sister will be able to see it soon as well.
