My heart just melted

Part of our bedtime routine with Sarah is to sing a little song every night. After I sang her the song, I was just cradling her and talking to her. I was telling her that I loved her and I asked if she loved me. For the first time, she nodded her head yes. Then I said to her "Mommy loves you!" She gave me the biggest, cheekiest grin. I think she understands this also now. So I put her in bed, gave her the panda bear (I think of you, Lynne, when she plays with it) and said good night. Right as I'm closing the door, I hear her say "Nigh, night". Wow! What did we ever do to be so blessed by her. And to think that nine months ago, we were having a baby shower and getting ready to fly to China.

This little girl has certainly been a blessing to us. Today she also did something she's never done before. Normally if I lay her down for a nap it either goes one of two ways. She either doesn't cry and she goes to sleep. Or she cries and she won't stop. Today she started to cry, but only cried for 2 or 3 minutes. She's never, ever done that before. I was so surprised.

Oh, and if you thought you were seeing things in the last post (second picture). It's ok, your eyes are fine. Yes, Caleb was shoveling snow in shorts. He is always hot. He'd wear shorts ALL the time if I'd let him!

That is the sweetest thing ever. Sonny is learning to say I love you, and he said "love you" back to me in his little baby jibberish. I love this age! Sarah is so blessed, and I am sure she has been such a blessing. God is so perfect in all his ways, how he knows exactly when, where, why, how and who. Not even one tread out of place. I love it!
Your vacation looked amazing. I really wish we could have gone there before we left.

Hi Dawn,
I am so glad I found your blog. I have been thinking of your family often and wondering about your little girl. I am so glad to read she is finally in your arms. She is beautiful and a true blessing from God.

Can't wait to keep up with your family.
